The stones have left a legacy of music over 5 decades. The Beatles were a little good album in a few years. Other than their place in popular culture and history, in terms of music and longevity, they are over-rated? Are the stones better? Or is it quality over quantity …..? Yes, they were to some extent, but they were still a talented group. The stones were too much to a certain point in time. As a comparison, At least the Beatles did not like Dreck album "Emotional Rescue" and "Undercover" on their resume. No, the Beatles were lucky; McCartney expected after they were separated to begin writing music unbearable shit (oh God, "Silly Love Songs" * puke *!).
